CAPTAINS BLOG - FRIDAY 12/11/2009
'JUST FOR FUN' Weekly Report
We came across the most curious pod of dolphin i've encountered in my 30 plus years on these waters this week. The pod must have had 20 members and some of the adults and a couple of the calves cruised along side the boat eye ball to eye ball with us for about ten minutes. First Mate Clint Roe shot some terrific video which he's in the process of editing. Had some great action in Captiva Pass wednesday with ladyfish and jacks hitting anything you offered. It slowed down a bit on thursday but we still managed a half dozen grouper with a few ladyfish and a Spanish mackerel to the boat. We got off to a late start thurs. because the captain locked himself out of his truck with the engine running during a pit stop at the local Circle K. Thank God for a Pine Island mullet fisherman with a coat hanger.
